The hotel itself was pretty nice, but hotel life is not so fun no matter were you are at. For Isaac especially. He was not too happy about being uprooted from his home..he went to daycare in the morning one day and got picked up and taken to a hotel at the end of the day. No warning.. not that we could have warned him; he wouldn't have understood.
He had a crib there but it was a mini-crib, so it was much smaller then what he was used too. Plus, we shared a room with him, and he goes to bed at 7... We ended up turning off all the nights, getting him to sleep, but kept the TV on low. When we went to bed and turned off the TV, he'd usually wake up or at least fuss a bit but fall back asleep. Some nights, it got cold in the room, no matter what we set the temperature at, so he woke up a lot just to be held, which has really disrupted his sleep routine and schedule.
He also hated being in the room itself for any long amount of time. I don't blame him really; he didn't have a lot of room to roam around in. We had two queen beds, his crib, a desk, an armoire/TV stand and chairs. We took a lot of walks around the complex and surrounding areas because of this. And of course, the last few days we were there, it was POURING down rain and we really couldn't go anywhere. Taking trips up and down the elevator and walking around the lobby was the best we could do.
By the end of the week, we were more then ready to leave.
There were some good things though. We were within walking distance to Waikiki. We went there a few times for lunches and/or dinners. We also met up with the Lings a few times, who were staying at a different hotel in Waikiki. The hotel also had an awesome kiddie pool area that we went too and Isaac had fun splashing about.
Below are a few pictures we took while at the hotel.
Playing on the chairs. I had them set up this way so I could put my feet up and attempt to rock him at night.. which was hard haha also, no arm rests made it really difficult. I ended up putting the second chair next to the first and putting a suitcase there so I could rest my arm on it.
Playing with the dresser handles and trying to open them.
Attacking mommy.
He found his stroller hanging and had to play with the wheels. He is SUCH a boy!
Playing with his toy car around the room.
That's all and there is, which is not many, but I promise to make up for that later when I update with our CA trip in a day or so.
I'm done with entries for tonight, but, in case you didn't notice, I also posted a blog entry an hour ago so make sure to read that one as well!
