Only one more week to go...

I'm going to do this post out of order and talk about my pregnancy first and then talk about Isaac.

I am 39 weeks today which means that one week from today is my due date. I highly doubt I will make it that far though. I had an OB appointment today and when they checked me, I was already at 4cm and about 80% thinned out! The OB offered to strip my membranes but I declined and said that if I am still pregnant for my next appointment (which is next Tuesday) THEN I will consider having them stripped. I am hoping the baby waits until at least Sunday, when my mom gets here, but I don't think that will happen.

I'm also much bigger with this pregnancy then I was with Isaac. The OB even said that she thinks this baby will be bigger then Isaac's 6lbs 4.8oz birth weight.

Other smaller updates from my appointment:
-Blood pressure was still a tad high, but it was right at the cut-off which is why they are not worried too much (though they said that if I start seeing spots, getting upper chest pain, or headaches that wont go away, to come right in)
-I gained no weight from last week to this week! Don't know how THAT happened! haha

Isaac
As for an update of Isaac - he's doing really well! Still learning more and more each day that it's hard to keep up with. Oh, and he discovered his love for popcorn, just like his daddy!

That's really all there is as far as an update for Isaac goes :)

Some new things did happen with me last week though... my position at CTB got terminated.. basically meaning, I got "let go." I wasn't too upset, since I was planning on not returning to work anyways after the baby comes. This just lets me start my maternity leave early :) It was a great 5(ish) years with the company and I will miss everyone I worked with!

That's really all there is as an update. We're just waiting around and seeing when the baby decides to arrive. I am 38 weeks today, meaning I have two weeks until my due date! I had an OB appointment yesterday and everything was good. They checked me again but there was no change from last week. We'll see what they say at my next appointment, which is next Wednesday :)

It's December!

Since it's a new month and a new holiday is coming up, I re-did the blog again. Hope you like it!

This past Sunday we met up with Lings in Annapolis to watch the tree lighting ceremony. We had dinner, then walked around a bit (there are tons of shops and we even stopped in one to get some fudge.. yum!). We listened to kids sing Christmas carols and tried to get Isaac to sing along. He didn't know the songs but he would repeat words he told him too :) And of course, we also got to see them light a Christmas tree before the nights end:

Other then that, we haven't been up to too much. Just work and waiting for the baby to come (who has only three weeks left!).

Isaac's newest thing is playing with blankets. He got a new one from Grandma Ann that he likes to be covered with and then roll around with it. He'll come over to wherever I am at, grab my hand and say "come on!" and pull me to the floor. Then he hands me the blanket and lays down the floor and waits for me to cover him. He's a little nut :)

Pregnancy update:
So it's finally December.. you know what this means right? It's my due date month!
As of today I have 20 days left until my due date! I'm ready but not for her to arrive. This weekend we're going to finish setting up the bedrooms upstairs and move stuff around so everything is good to go. My bag is packed as well as one for Isaac in case something happens in the middle of the night and he has to go to my neighbors house.

I have OB appointments weekly now and my last one I had was yesterday. It went fairly well, though they had to check my blood pressure three times because the first two times was a little high (122/92). They checked it a last time before I left and it was back to normal.

My belly is measuring right on track at 37cm and the baby's heartbeat was 138. She was very active during the appointment and the doctor and nurse in there were commenting on how much she moved haha. They also checked me to see if I was making any progress (the week before I was already 1.5cm and 50% thinned out). Well, I am still 1.5cm but now 75% thinned out. I have been having what I think are very inconsistent contractions, so we'll see just how much longer this child decides to stay baking :)

That's about it for now! As I said before, this weekend we are planning on finishing up getting the baby's room ready and I think we may also be getting a Christmas tree and start decorating :) Can't wait!

Been kind of quiet..small update

Not too much has been happening here lately, which is why there was a lack of updates...and mostly there has been a lack of picture taking on my part. I did gather a few though :)

As you can see, Isaac is doing well :) He talks up a storm and I think he learns new words every few days. He's always amazing us. He knows some shapes like triangles, rectangles, squares, circle, and stars. When he counts, he goes to "one..two..one..two" haha.. still working on that. And he knows the color blue, red, and yellow.. but doesnt always identify them correctly haha. He loves his big boy bed and if I ask him if I can sleep in it, he says "no" :(



As far as my pregnancy goes, so far so good. As of today I have 4 weeks until my due date! I had an OB appointment on Monday and they checked me and I am already 1.5cm and 50% thinned out. This doesn't really mean anything, as I can stay that way for weeks, but it's still kind of neat that I am somewhat progressed because I wasn't like this with Isaac until 39wks.
I have weekly appointments set up now from now until the week I am due.

New Haircut and Happy Halloween!

Isaac finally got his much needed hair cut! We went to a lady who lives just a few houses from me and has a salon in her house. I brought my laptop and put in a DVD of one of his favorite shows, Team Umizoomi.

He was a little hesitant at first... shaking his head whenever she touched his hair. But after a while, and after a sucker given to him, he finally stopped resisting as much.

The next day, we were planning on going to DC to see another museum but it was so windy and rainy and cold, that we decided to stay inside instead. Also, Isaac seemed to be a little lathargic that day. So we decided to carve our pumpkins instead.

On Sunday Isaac seemed to feel better. We even went outside to play with Theo for a bit.

But later that night he started getting a low grade temp and even threw up once. I kept him home with me on Monday, just in case. He started coughing and having a runny nose that day, but didn't seem too bad. It was Halloween night, so we dressed him up (with lots of layers!) and took him trick or treating (for about 45 minutes). By the time we came home, we missed all the kids coming by, so we have a TON of candy left-over (this pregnant lady is not complaining haha).

As far as actual trick-or-treating went, Isaac caught on fairly quickly. Even though we've been prompting him to say "trick or treat" for a while now, he wouldn't say it, but he WOULD say thank you, so I guess that's good. He liked the part where he was able to grab candy from big bowls and put it in his bucket. He also wouldn't let go of his bucket. Of course, he had no idea that he was getting candy.. he just liked grabbing things and putting them in there.

As for non-Halloween news... Isaac officially has a big boy bedroom. No more dresser with a changing table; he has a brand new one. No more crib; we took it out after a week of sleeping in his big boy bed successfully. The only "baby" thing in there is the rocker. Eventually I will need to stop rocking him before bed, but that's a hard habit to break...for me and him. It's the only time he lets me hold him for more then two seconds haha

As far as pregnancy #2 goes, things are going well. Getting bigger and more uncomfortable though. I am 33 weeks today, which means only 7 more weeks until my due date! I find that rather insane... where did the time go?
