Jan. 7th - Byebye Daycare and House in Hawaii

Good-bye Daycare
On January 7th, Isaac had to say good bye to his daycare. He LOVED his daycare. The ladies who worked in the rooms he was in are all awesome and I know he will miss them a ton!

These ladies are Miss Loni, Miss Barbara, and Miss Rachael. They work in the room for babies 6-12months. Isaac didn't get a chance to go into this room until he was about 7-8months old. After the transition to the room, he very rarely cried when I dropped him off. He always just crawled off and started playing. When we picked him up, he was always happy. They always said how what a good eater he is. I give them credit for how well Isaac eats and thank them (and the daycare itself) for providing such wonderful meals for him (some of which I wish I was eating myself!)

These ladies are Miss In Hye, Miss Diane, and Miss Ann (who wasn't there the day we took these pictures). They work in the room with the 6wks - 6months babies, so basically in Isaac's first room. These ladies have so much patience to work with such young babies! They helped reassure me when I first starting bringing Isaac and when it was time to transition him to the next room, I wanted him to stay because he was so happy there. Luckily, his new room was only across the hall from his old room so they popped in to say hi to him occasionally :)

I want to give a great big THANKS to these wonderful ladies who cared for and loved Isaac as much as I do!

 Good-bye house

After we picked up Isaac from his last day of Daycare, we took him to the house, which was now empty.

 He wasn't quite sure what to think about it. He wouldn't stay in one spot for long and I really wanted a picture of him sitting in the empty room, but what you see is what I managed to get haha

So that's all that happened that day. I might post another entry tonight if I get time to do so.

15 Weeks Old and new daycare!

I apologize for being a day late.. so to make up for it, here are some pictures taken yesterday evening

He kept lifting his feet when I was trying to take his picture. I'm still waiting for him to find his toes and start munching on them haha

And now and update! He had his first day of daycare at the CDC yesterday and he did pretty well I think. They said he had gas, which I told them was normal. At this point I don't know what else to do :( They are not allowed to give him gas drops unless I get a prescription from his doctor... I can ask her about that his next appointment though. They also said he was fine as long as someone was sitting RIGHT next to him, then he would smile and coo at them. I had a feeling that would happen, as he is like that with us too. I'm hoping as he gets older and can play with toys easier that he can start to entertain himself for a bit longer. He is grabbing things much easier now though! They also said that when he would fall asleep they would put him in the crib but then he would wake up and cry.. he only slept in the bouncers. This isn't an issue right now, but when he turns 6 months he goes into the next room (for 6+months babies) and they don't have bouncers in there so he will eventually need to get used to sleeping in thier crib. They said that while he is at home he needs to sleep in his crib too, but when I put him in his crib for naps he doesn't stay asleep for longer then 10-20 minutes... then he wakes up screaming like he's scared (even though he is perfectly fine in his crib at night). I guess something we will work though..

The ladies all seem really nice though. They have "lesson" plans and goals for each baby, like grabbing things, tummy time, and stuff like that. They have tons of bouncers, playmats, mirrors, dangling toys, and exersaucer things (those round things baby sit in that are like stationary walkers with tons of toys on them). I wish I could go in there and play with him all day :)

New Daycare!

So Isaac has been going to an in-home Daycare provider the past few weeks since I started work. While he seemed to like it there, the lady watching him was having trouble being able to tend to him plus all the other older kids there at the same time (because Isaac demanded lots more attention). Shortly after he started at the in-home daycare, I put him on the wait-list at the CDC (Child Development Center) here on base. We were in the third priority group on the list and we thought it would take forever to get him a spot. I called the other day because his original provider was going to give me her two weeks notice, saying she cant watch Isaac anymore and I really needed to know what spot he was in and how long of a wait we had. They couldn't tell me the spot number, since his number would change if the other two priority lists added more people.
I found another lady who was going to have an infant spot opening in her in-home daycare, but she already has her own 7 month old. Isaac did end up going there for a half day on Friday, for a trial run then went the other half to the place he usually goes to.
Yesterday afternoon, before I left to get Isaac from daycare after work, the CDC called saying they had an immediate spot and he could start MONDAY! We had 24 hours to accept or decline the spot. We accepted the spot and we even got to the tour his rom that he will be staying at. It's pretty neat! And what's even more cool is that I can show you all the room as well!

I sure hope he likes it there! I'll keep you all updated on how he does :)

Isaac's first day of Daycare!

The report came back that Isaac did really well yesterday! He napped off and on all day though, which I know makes things easier haha. But she said that he only really cried when he got hungry. The other times when he was awake, he would watch the older kids play and smile and talk/coo at them. I kinda wish I was there so I could take pictures lol!

She said that the older kids all loved him and they all wanted to play and hold him. Her 2yr old daughter even got to feed him (which is good to hear because we were afraid she would have jealousy issues).

Of course, when he got home he was cranky. Typical though :)

He's back at daycare now for Day #2. Lets hope he has another good day there!

12 Weeks Old!

Has it really been 12 weeks since Isaac was born???

I'd say it hasn't but apparently the calendar doesn't lie. :(

Time really is going by fast... well, the days seem to drag on sometimes, but the overall time has gone by rather quickly. Funny how that happens...

So because it has been 12 weeks since he was born that means two things...
1. I am back at work!
2. He is at daycare.. for 8 whole hours!

It sucked dropping him off.. I just hope today goes by fast so that I can leave and go get him! I know he is in very capable hands but still.. 8hrs away is just a looooong time. I hope he behaves and doesn't cry too much..

He did surprise me this morning though... by sleeping for 9 straight hours! I couldn't believe it! He nursed at 8pm last night, in bed by 9 and did not wake up until 6:15am this morning! I, however, was awake at 3:30am, expecting him to wake up "any minute now". Now lets see if this was a fluke or if it's his new sleep schedule! :)

When he woke up though, he was in a very wierd spot in his crib... every night I place him in the middle in his sleep positioner, with a recieving blanket over his legs and up to his tummy only. This morning, I found him like this:

All the up against the bumper.. feet up against the end of the crib.. his head in the sleep positioner... and his blanket along side him! (And very grumpy because mommy was taking pictures instead of picking him up haha). Do you see that square mat, next to his positioner? That's where his head is at when I lay him down at night.. so you can see just how much he moved!
