I can't believe that in 3 short months Isaac will 1 year old!!!! This year flew by!
He's getting to be such a big boy too... He had his well-child check up today and here are the stats:
19lbs 5oz
28.25 inches tall
We knew he hit a growth spurt because now when he stands by our tray tables, he hits head! Haha.
It seems like he is doing more and more each day. He's getting much better at picking up food with his fingers. He loves Gerber Puffs and today he had banana slices and kept himself busy eating those. He also holds his own bottle now (when he isn't half asleep) which is nice! We give little bits of our food here and there, in small chunks. So far, I think he likes everything haha!
He pulls himself up onto EVERYTHING. The couch, boxes, chairs, sliding glass door. And he cruises along things if he can. He can hold onto them with just one hand and have pretty good balance. I think if he were to let go, he'd be able to stand, but the moment he lets go, he just plops down on his butt.
He has been babbling A LOT. We are not really sure what he's saying, and I dont think he knows either, but sometimes it sounds like "I do it" or "I did it"! He defintially says mama, dada, and doggy. I think he tries to say bath (he saw his tub the other day and got all excited and said "ba").
He's also learning how to test us. His newest thing is to go after the dog food and water bowl. We tell him "no" and remove him and he will keep going back, laughing the whole way over! He thinks it's a game. We try to redirect him with something else, but he just puts it down and goes right back over to the bowls. We ended up just removing them so it seems that Theo will need to learn to eat his food right away, or gets put away.
Here are a few pics from today
That's it for now :)

Isaac's Christmas Wishlist
Isaac's Christmas Wishlist
This list is going to be somewhat small, as Isaac really doesn't "want" anything (this will change as the years go by, I am sure haha), so it's just a basic list of things that he can always use.
Clothes
All sizes to be 12m, though a few bigger things will be fine too. I am guessing he will be fitting in size 12m by the time we leave here since he is in 9m now. I can always get more clothes once we get there, but I would like to have some on hand when we arrive and also while in CA.- Long sleeve shirts (preferably no fleece, unless it's a jacket - fleece shirts too warm for when indoors, but thermal and t-shirt -material is fine)
- Pants (jeans, sweat pants, track pants, etc)
- Long sleeve onsies
- Long sleeve shirt + pants combo's
- Long sleeve onsies + pants combo's
- Mittens (not the snow ones, but the sweater material kind)
- Socks (both with and without the skid-free stuff on the bottom of them)
- Hat/hoodie that covers ears as well and will tie under his chin
- Footie pajamas
- Shoes, size 3 (or bigger for later use)
Clothes he has already:
- Dark blue fleece zip-up jacket
- Light gray windbreaker type jacket
- Couple of pajamas (he can always use more)
- Couple of shirts and a pair of track pants
- Size 3 shoes without the hard soles on them (I heard that the hard soles were bad for when learning how to walk)
Whatever we dont get, we can buy when we get there or hit up the outlet stores before we leave (I went to Carters and Oshkosh and almost bought a TON of stuff, then put a lot back and thought they would be good things for others to get him for Christmas).
Misc
- Toys - No real list, I only ask that he doesn't get anything too loud/obnoxious. I am hoping to get a few new toys for the plane trips
- Books - anything age appropriate - shapes, colors, animals, etc
- Flannel crib sheets
Movies
We are wanting to collect the Disney and Pixar (children) movies on Blueray. Here is the list of the ones we HAVE already on Blueray:- Sleeping Beauty
- Snow White
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Up
Possible movie ideas:
- Jungle Book
- Peter Pan
- Tarzan
- Lion King
- Beauty and the Beast
- Aladdin
- Cars
- Incredibles
If you have any questions, just ask! :)

38 weeks - the Zoo!
Yesterday we took Isaac to the zoo! Our friends (the Lings) joined us. We got there around 9:30 and were there until a little after 12ish. It was hot and a bit humid, but overall a really nice day. Matt and I got ourselves an early Christmas present for us on Saturday.. a new SLR Digital Camera! So we took it out for a test run at the zoo and it did beautifully! We took over 300 pictures! I promise not to post all of them haha.
Isaac also did REALLY well. He mainly just watched people but there were a few exhibits that we think he actually enjoyed. He really liked the tigers, which he called doggies (he made the sound he makes when he see's Theo) and he also really liked this little baby fox, who was running around and being very hyper (he was giggling and kicking his feet whenever it would run past us).
The past few nights (almost a week now) he's gone back to sleeping poorly though. Waking up every few hours and not being able to put himself back to sleep. I think all the fresh air finally did some good because last night he only woke up once!
I also realized that we only have 8 more weekends left on Oahu before we leave! WOW! Time is going to fly... and we still have lots to do to get ready.
Anyways, on to the picture! Below are just a few from during the week that are non-zoo pictures.
Below are some of the zoo pictures. As I said earlier, we took about 300 pictures throughout the day. The ones below are just some of Isaac. You can see more on my facebook album here:
Hope you enjoyed these!

The pictures are kind of blurry, but this was how he looked when he woke up on Tuesday and was covered in a rash.
Trying to sleep in the doggie bed
Eating a Mum-mum
Playing early in the morning
"My doggy is sleeping.. I'm bored..."
He looks so much older when he wears two-piece outfits and not onsies!
Being a ham for the camera
he LOVES bath time!
