18 Weeks Old!

A year ago yesterday (June 27th) I took a pregnancy test.. and the result was Isaac being born 9 months later :) For fun, I took another pregnancy test this morning (I was going to do it yesterday but kept forgetting haha)...

It came out negative! :) No, I did not suspect I was pregnant. I just wanted to take one in celebration for getting a positive one a year ago.

Anyways! Isaac is 18 weeks old today! Little boy is growing FAST! Here are some pictures that I already posted on Facebook yesterday but still needed to upload to here.

Getting tickled by mommy

I love this onsie!

Attacking the camera

Just messing around with camera angles and whatnot

Mommy's fingers taste yummy!

Smiling at his daddy

Silly face

So., the flash was on Auto.. some pictures had flash and some didnt. This one obviously did and the result is... Isaac looking like an alien!

Nakkie baby! It's very hard to get him to hold still for very long though... haha

And that's all the pictures for now :)

Time for a little update. We are having issues with daycare as far as what Isaac is eating. At first, I was pumping and sending along with him about 3-4 bottles of breastmilk. From the first day, they said that whenever they tried to give him a breastmilk bottle, that he wouldn't take it. He would cry and push it away and fus. If they gave him formula, he would drink it right up. I tried for about two weeks, telling them to give him breastmilk first. They tried and he kept refusing. The tempurature of the formula and breastmilk were the same, so its a tempurature issue... I know that sometimes babies just wont take breastmilk away from home. I stopped sending along breastmilk bottles and told them to just feed him formula if that is what is working.... as long as he eats, thats all that I care about really. Plus, it's frustrating when I spend all that time pumping and it ends up getting tossed down the drain. I still breastfeed him at home though so it's not like I completely stopped.

Now, last Thursday the daycare lady in charge of the room Isaac is in, talked with me for a bit. She was saying that she noticed that Isaac was extremely gassy that day (the day before he had his pedi appointment so he didnt go all day and so i nursed him all day long to hopefully help with his cold). She also said that when he has formula at daycare that he has NO gas at all. She suggested I try to just give him formula for a few days and see how he does. I hate thinking its my breastmilk causing him to be gassy, so I decided to give it a shot. All day Friday (except for his bedtime meal) he had formula. He drank it all up without too much fuss and was doing good. On Saturday he started fussing at the bottle and after a while just refused to eat from it. He wouldn't take it from me or Matt. I finally gave in and breastfed him during the day... and realized he was EXTREMELY gassy. The formula has turned on him and made him gassy now.. or at least if he has it all day long it will. I tried giving him a bottle on Sunday and he still really fussed at it, but did drink a good portion. He was still really gassy though so for the rest of Sunday, he just nursed.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I'd like for him to be only on breastmilk, but if he wont take it at daycare I cant really help that. The formula we are using is GentleEase by Enfamil... I'm thinking once he gets done with this last can, I will try a different kind.. I just hate seeing him in pain!

And last night was horrible.. He was passed out asleep and after I left his room, 5 minutes later he woke up screaming. He was in pain and we weren't sure why. I gave him gas drops in case that was the reason and he calmed down enough to sleep.. for 10 minutes and then was up screaming even harder. We could barely hold him because he was wiggling around so much! He wasn't passing gas so I dont think it was a gas issue (he would have passed gas by then if it was). On a last attempt effort, I decided to try some orajel on his gums... after a few minutes he calmed down and FINALLY stayed asleep for a few hours. I keep checking his gums and I dont see any swelling or teeth or any signs of actual teething.. but if the orajel worked, I guess that was the issue?? It's so hard to tell with babies because they just cant TELL us whats wrong :(

This ended up being really long haha...kudos to you if you read all of it! :)
