Grandparents, growing children, and a haircut!

Short little update as not much has been happening, except the kids are just getting too darn big!

This past weekend, Matt's dad and stepmom came here to Maryland to visit us and meet little Rose.

Grandpa Terry, Grandma Cindy, Rose and Isaac

Rose is starting to outgrow all her newborn clothes and has started entering the 0-3m and 3month size clothing already. I even put on a sleeper that didn't fit Isaac until he was 2 months old, but now at 1 month old, it fits Rose.

 Caught a smirk!

and Rose (1month) in the same outfit.

She also had her very first bottle over the past weekend. I have a few appointments coming up next week that will involve her needing to take a bottle while I am out. She did really well :) Now I just need to find time to pump for those appointments next week (one is an eye doctor appointment and the other is my 6 week postpartum appointment. Can't believe it's already been 6 weeks!!)

Today, Isaac got a MUCH needed haircut. See some before and after pictures below :)

He looks like a completely different kid!!!!

Tomorrow, Friday, we are going to PA for the weekend. Matt is going camping with the guys so the kids and I (and Theo too!) are going to be in Zelienople. We will return Monday :)

Rose is 1 month old!

Happy 1 Month Rosie!

Can't believe she is already a month old! Here are some more pictures from today. We decided to do her monthly pictures different then Isaac's (who had a panda bear), so I got these onsie stickers for every month up until she is a year old. There are tons of designs out there but I liked these ones best because they have roses on them :)

 Full on smile!

 My big girl!

And here are some other ones from the past few days, including some cute bathtime pics!

Funny pic that Matt took of us

 Sleeping beauty

As for an update, she still really is a more relaxed baby then Isaac was though she does have days when she doesn't want to be put down and be held all day long. We're also working on getting her to sleep more and more in her own bed instead of in our bed with us, though that's mostly my fault since it's a lot easier for me to nurse laying down so we can just fall asleep during/after. She still gets up to eat usually every 2 hours, sometimes 2.5-3hrs, so you can see why I am dragging my feet on this haha!

I'm going to bring out the pump soon and start feeding her with bottles every once in a while, just so that when I have doctors appointments or cant nurse for some reason, she will be ok with bottles as well. I'm still really proud of the fact that it's been a full month and she has never had a bottle yet :)

Isaac is doing good too. Cant believe he will be 2 next month! He's so smart and he picks up things so quickly now. He's still learning to be gentle with Rose and he's still doing things that test us and our patience but I still love that little guy :)

Rose has her 1month well-child checkup appointment tomorrow so I will get her stats and update this post then.

Blocks, coloring, and lots of sleeping (not by me, unfortunately)

Since the beginning of the month/year, Isaac has only been going to daycare parttime, which means there are about 2 days a week that he stays home with me and Rose.  I try to keep him entertained as much as possible, so that included lots of playing with blocks and coloring this past week.

Blocks all over the floor.. but he played with them almost all day long

Most of the time he is pretty good, but he does have moments where I can tell his terrible 2's are about to hit... let's just say he's gotten very good about having selective hearing haha. I'm trying to be as patient has I can with him, but with the lack of sleep I get, it's sometimes hard.

Speaking of "2's".. I cant believe that in a little over a month, he is going to be a 2 year old! Where did the time go??!? Now I need to plan his birthday parties (yes, plural.. we're going to have one in PA probably Feb 19th and then a very small one here in MD on the 25th). I've been trying to think up of a theme for the parties and it's between Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi (his two favorite shows). I've been leaning more towards Umizoomi, so we'll probably go with that.

As for Rose, she does what babies do best.. eat & sleep haha! She still sleeps a lot during the day, and even at night she sleeps a few hours at a time (about 2-3hrs) and this past week she must have been going through a growth spurt because it felt like I was nursing her ALL.THE.TIME.

Here are some picture, most of her sleeping (and most taken with my cell phone camera because that is what I have right by most of the day)

Caught the tail end of a smile

 Just looking around

 Snoozing

 Smiling in her sleep <3

 Tummy time!

She was actually pretty chill when it came to tummy time...

Even got a bit of a smirk from her!

 Then... she had enough haha!

 Thinking while sleeping

 Passed out

 Sleeping.. again

Her hair from the back. I think it's the same
color that Isaac had when he was a newborn :)

She fell asleep with her thumb in her mouth haha!

Well that's about it for now :) I'll post more pics next week!

Update and a couple of pics from the first week of 2012

Busy busy busy! That's what we have been.. or at least it seems that way with an almost-2yr-old and a 2 week old baby in the house!

Isaac started daycare part-time this week, so he was home with me and Rose for two days.. it's going to take some getting used to for all of us, especially since he is starting to act out a bit more (typical 2yr old stuff, plus there is probably some adjusting of the new baby going on as well). For the most part though, he does really well with Rose and loves to give her hugs and kisses.

Rose is doing well too, though she has thrush, which is basically a yeast infection in her mouth (very common for babies to get). I took her to the doctors on Thursday and got some meds so hopefully it clears up soon. I'm just glad we got it early enough because if I had waited, it would have started to hurt her and make nursing difficult for both of us.

We're still working on getting her to sleep by herself at night, though I am partly to blame because I fall asleep while she is nursing and just keep her in bed because it's easier for me when she wakes up to eat again. She's also going through a growth spurt so she is nursing a lot more too.

That's really about it as far as an update goes.. below are some pictures from this past week :)

He loves this tent he got for Christmas

Her usual outfit that she wears under her
