18 Weeks Old!

A year ago yesterday (June 27th) I took a pregnancy test.. and the result was Isaac being born 9 months later :) For fun, I took another pregnancy test this morning (I was going to do it yesterday but kept forgetting haha)...

It came out negative! :) No, I did not suspect I was pregnant. I just wanted to take one in celebration for getting a positive one a year ago.

Anyways! Isaac is 18 weeks old today! Little boy is growing FAST! Here are some pictures that I already posted on Facebook yesterday but still needed to upload to here.

Getting tickled by mommy

I love this onsie!

Attacking the camera

Just messing around with camera angles and whatnot

Mommy's fingers taste yummy!

Smiling at his daddy

Silly face

So., the flash was on Auto.. some pictures had flash and some didnt. This one obviously did and the result is... Isaac looking like an alien!

Nakkie baby! It's very hard to get him to hold still for very long though... haha

And that's all the pictures for now :)

Time for a little update. We are having issues with daycare as far as what Isaac is eating. At first, I was pumping and sending along with him about 3-4 bottles of breastmilk. From the first day, they said that whenever they tried to give him a breastmilk bottle, that he wouldn't take it. He would cry and push it away and fus. If they gave him formula, he would drink it right up. I tried for about two weeks, telling them to give him breastmilk first. They tried and he kept refusing. The tempurature of the formula and breastmilk were the same, so its a tempurature issue... I know that sometimes babies just wont take breastmilk away from home. I stopped sending along breastmilk bottles and told them to just feed him formula if that is what is working.... as long as he eats, thats all that I care about really. Plus, it's frustrating when I spend all that time pumping and it ends up getting tossed down the drain. I still breastfeed him at home though so it's not like I completely stopped.

Now, last Thursday the daycare lady in charge of the room Isaac is in, talked with me for a bit. She was saying that she noticed that Isaac was extremely gassy that day (the day before he had his pedi appointment so he didnt go all day and so i nursed him all day long to hopefully help with his cold). She also said that when he has formula at daycare that he has NO gas at all. She suggested I try to just give him formula for a few days and see how he does. I hate thinking its my breastmilk causing him to be gassy, so I decided to give it a shot. All day Friday (except for his bedtime meal) he had formula. He drank it all up without too much fuss and was doing good. On Saturday he started fussing at the bottle and after a while just refused to eat from it. He wouldn't take it from me or Matt. I finally gave in and breastfed him during the day... and realized he was EXTREMELY gassy. The formula has turned on him and made him gassy now.. or at least if he has it all day long it will. I tried giving him a bottle on Sunday and he still really fussed at it, but did drink a good portion. He was still really gassy though so for the rest of Sunday, he just nursed.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I'd like for him to be only on breastmilk, but if he wont take it at daycare I cant really help that. The formula we are using is GentleEase by Enfamil... I'm thinking once he gets done with this last can, I will try a different kind.. I just hate seeing him in pain!

And last night was horrible.. He was passed out asleep and after I left his room, 5 minutes later he woke up screaming. He was in pain and we weren't sure why. I gave him gas drops in case that was the reason and he calmed down enough to sleep.. for 10 minutes and then was up screaming even harder. We could barely hold him because he was wiggling around so much! He wasn't passing gas so I dont think it was a gas issue (he would have passed gas by then if it was). On a last attempt effort, I decided to try some orajel on his gums... after a few minutes he calmed down and FINALLY stayed asleep for a few hours. I keep checking his gums and I dont see any swelling or teeth or any signs of actual teething.. but if the orajel worked, I guess that was the issue?? It's so hard to tell with babies because they just cant TELL us whats wrong :(

This ended up being really long haha...kudos to you if you read all of it! :)

4 Month Pediatrician Appointment

Isaac had his 4 month well-child appointment today. Aside from a cold that he has, he's doing really well.

He is now 14.97 lbs and 25.63inches. So he basically grew 1lb and 1inch. Not bad!

He didn't even cry when he got his shot! The doctor said he is doing all his development stuff wonderfully. She also said that the daycare trying to feed him at 2.5-3hrs between meals is too soon and is probably why he isn't taking bottles and spitting up a lot (he goes through 2-3 outfits a day due to him spitting up). I'm going to see if I can sign a waver so that they feed him when he's hungry, not on a schedule.

And, because he's such a cutie and I couldn't pass up picture oppertunties... here are some more pics of the little guy!

This was him last night.. he was not feeling well :(

This outfit is soo cute! It's also size 3-6 months!

That's it for now!

4 Months Old!

This will just be a quick picture post :) There will be more information after Isaac's pediatrician appointment tomorrow.

There are two outfits because one set of pictures was taken before daycare and the second set was taken after (and he had his outfit changed while there due to spitting up).

Oh, and I think the poor guy has his first cold :( He has a tiny cough and sounds a bit congested. Luckily he has an appointment tomorrow so I will have them check to make sure its nothing bad.

17 Weeks Old!

Busy week for the little guy.. today he turns 17 weeks old, tomorrow he turns 4 months old (HOLY COW!) and Wednesday he has his pediatrician appointment.

This past weekend was both good and bad. Good because Matt and I finally got a new digital camera (which means that this weeks post will LOTS of pictures because we did a lot of testing out). But bad because Isaac's sleep schedule has gone very bad. The past two weeks he WAS sleeping from 8pm till 3, 4, or 5 (waking at one of those hours to eat). He may wake once or twice before that, just for his paci, but then is back asleep within seconds. However, starting on Friday, he has started waking up every hour after about midnight.. so he's up at 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, .... he isn't hungry either.. I offer him the paci and he takes it and it seems he tries to get back to sleep but he's really restless.. I am guessing a growth spurt? Or maybe teeth?? All I know is that I miss his old sleeping schedule and I hope it returns soon!

Ok, enough about me, on to the pictures!!!!

In his jumper.. gotta use a pillow under his feet because he isn't quite tall enough yet
Though he just kind of lounges on the pillow haha.. I think it's too big actually..

But it's ok because he seems to be having fun :)

Watching TV in Daddy's chair... that looks like its about to swallow him up!

He was just kicking around for the camear

Mommy and Isaac took a nap on the couch. I find it funny that the pillow behind me has a "taking bubble" and it looks like its coming from me!

The many faces of Isaac!

He looks a little grumpy..

There's my happy baby!

Another nap on the couch

Mommy giving Isaac a bottle. I really like that profile picture in the last one

Getting ready to go swim in Liv's kiddie pool!

A little support in sitting up hehe

Mommy and Isaac at Liv's house

Feet first!

Doesn't seem to bother him

Uh-oh, getting that grumpy face again

Oh look! Balloons! That distracted him haha

Love this picture!

Mr. Grumpy Pants didn't want his picture taken I guess

He was tired while Skyping...

And we were Skyping with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Joey!

These were taken this morning for his 17th week photo session haha

And the last one, just before leaving for daycare!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! I'll be taking more tomorrow sometime (either before or after daycare) for his 4 month pictures!
