Road trip and moving in!

The past week has been very hectic, but the house is slowly coming together!

We left Zelienople, PA on Saturday March 5th, which was 2 months from the day that movers came to our house in Hawaii and packed up our stuff. Neat, huh? The car was packed FULL of our stuff...we barely had enough room for Isaac haha!

Needless to say, Theo will be staying at Grandma Deb's house until she comes to visit, or we go there to visit for Jimmy's birthday on the 26th.

So, on we went to Maryland!

Waving bye bye to Grandma Deb

The trip was about 4.5-5 hours long, and I was wondering how Isaac would do, being in his car seat that long. We had long flights while getting to the East Coast, but he was able to get out of his car seat and stuff. He did really well though. For the first hour, he stared outside the window, watching the rain. Then he passed out.

Then he woke up and started babbling a ton.

After a while though, he did start getting restless.

Sooner or later, we got to Maryland!

We still had another few hours to go, so we took a few breaks to stretch out. The rest of the trip didn't go badly and other then fussing every now and again, Isaac did great. He even played with some toys and 'read' some books.

When we finally got home, we ordered pizza, got Isaac ready for bed, then started unpacking. Sunday was even more unpacking, which proves to be very difficult with a 1yr old around!

During the week, I attempted to unpack little by little, but with Isaac home, it just wasn't happening. He was getting into everything and even if I put him in his room with lots of toys and a baby gate at his door, he would cry and scream....so it ended up being Mommy and Isaac week at home. Which was actually quite nice.

Playing with empty boxes. He did this on his own too.

We did end up finding someone who has a daycare in her home just a block away though! We went over on Tuesday and Wednesday to hang out over there so he could get to know her and the other kids. I was going to drop him off on Thursday from 2:30 till about 4:30, but the home security guys came at noon and ended up staying past 4pm (they originally said that the job would take 2hrs but it took longer because they had re-wire everything from the previous owners). So then I made plans for him to go over on Friday morning while I went to the base to get a new military ID. That morning though, he had a slight fever that kept rising. It eventually got to 102.3 and I had to the daycare to cancel, then I gave him some Motrin. I waited a bit and it started to go down, so we packed up and headed to the base. On the way there though, Isaac threw up all over himself. I felt SO bad, but was on the freeway and couldn't really stop. We got to where we needed to be and Matt helped me clean him up.

Fast forward a few hours later and we're back home and he's just acting pretty lethargic. He took a nice nap, but I could tell he wasn't feeling well still. He wanted to play so badly, but didn't have the energy... so he ended up playing with toys while laying down.

By the end of the night however,  he started acting like his old self and hasn't had a fever or been sick since. He hasn't been eating as much as he normally does though, so I dont think he's completely over it.

The past two days were spent emptying boxes in the bedroom and putting things away. We still have a ton of stuff in the basement, but the house is somewhat finally getting done.

You can see pictures of house here on my Facebook page:

There are no pictures of our stuff in it yet, but those will come with everything is finally complete.

I start work next week and Isaac starts daycare full time. I sure hope he does OK over there since he didn't get a chance to have time over there without me there like I planned.

Oh, and so the post doesn't end with sad images of a sickly Isaac, here are some pictures from about 2-3 weeks ago, where Isaac and Grandma Deb were sharing a frozen fruit bar:

Taking a bite...
Oooo.. tangy and COLD!
Going in for more
Still cold and tangy, but getting used to it.

That's it for now...Goodnight!
