A trip to the Air and Space Museum in Virgina & other ways to beat the heat

This past weekend was hot. I mean HOT. Friday had a heat index of 120. We didn't want to be couped up all day on Saturday, but doing something outside was out of the question. So we decided to hit the road and go to the Air and Space Museum in Virgina.

Isaac had a BLAST! If he didn't love airplanes before, he sure does now! We brought the stroller, but he basically walked everywhere, pointing at everything and saying "Airplane! Airplane!"

Running up to look at an airplane.
He loved the fact that they were floor level.

This is a replica outfit they used to make for
charities and stuff. I thought it was pretty neat.

 Checking out a jet.

Looking up at one of the airplanes.

He kept putting his head between the bars.
We were pretty surprised he didn't try
and crawl underneath to get a closer look.

 "Cheese!"

Checking out the FedEx cargo plane.

Ooo a plane in just Isaac's size!

 He liked this one haha

Walking, walking walking. Don't worry, Matt is
close by, I just made sure he wasn't in the shot.

Sitting in front of an Air Force plane.

Pointing at one of the many airplanes.

 Space Shuttle!

Daddy showing Isaac the space shuttle.

Look how small Matt, and especialy
Isaac, are compared to the Shuttle!

He kept wanting to go back and see it.

Mommy and Isaac in front of the Space Shuttle.

Another one of mommy and Isaac..
and a view of mommy's growing belly :)

 Checking out jets/airplanes.

Posing for a picture. I love this one!

"Ooooooo!"

So as you can see, we had a good time.

We tried other ways to beat the heat...such as:
Eating frozen fruits, like strawberries & blueberries.

Having daddy dump water over you

Watching daddy work on the yard, from
the nice, air-conditioned house.

Helping mommy sort the socks after doing laundry.

Ok, so that last one wasn't a "beat the heat" thing, but it was cute and wanted to share :)

This upcoming weekend, we're going to PA to Matt's dad's and going camping! Well, it's camping right next to his house, but all the brothers with their kids will be there. It should be fun!

Stay cool everyone!

Baby Black #2 has a gender... we think!

So today is not only my little brothers 16th birthday (Happy Birthday again to Joey!), but we had our anatomy scan today for our second little bundle of joy.

The doctor spent about a half hour doing all the measurements and stuff, torturing me because I really wanted to know the gender (not to mention I had to pee haha!!!).

Finally, the tech said "Well.. I THINK it's a girl because I don't see any boy parts. But sometimes they could be hidden, so I dont want to say for sure." She kept looking and I saw the three distict lines between the legs, which usually signafies a  girl. So I guess we are having a little GIRL!! :) :) :)

 Gender picture
No visible boy parts and I still see three lines.
Hopefully no surprises in the delivery room!

 Skeletore face shot.. lol

 Profile shot

Another profile shot, with a hand by her head

So now I guess we have the task of picking out a name,  huh? Wish us luck! Also, we'll be doing what we did with Isaac.. not saying the real name until she's born. We gotta keep SOMETHING a surprise!

Trip to the Baltimore zoo!

So we finally made it to the zoo! We had to decide between the Baltimore Zoo and the DC Zoo, since both are so close. We decided on the Baltimore Zoo this time and the next time we want to go to the zoo, we will check out the DC one.  We went on Sunday and it was a little hot out, even though we went at 10am, but still not too bad. We met the Lings there as well, which was also really nice :)

Checking out the animals with Matt

He was much more interested in the animals this time

 Turtles

 Checking out the rhino

 Isaac, Noah, and Clarence

He walked most of the time.
We had the stroller, but he preferred to walk.

 Zebras

 Liv, Noah, and Isaac.
Hard to tell from this picture,
but Liv is about 37weeks pregnant
with her second baby boy!

Being silly

Checking out the Zebras

Isaac and the Cheetah... up close and personal!

Glad that glass is there.. and very thick too!

 Penguins

 Mommy and baby elephant

This "little" guy was having lots of fun in the pool that day.

So much fun that the mommy elephant decided to join in as well

Isaac and daddy watching the elephants playing in the water

 Giraffe

Monkey's of some sort. The one in the top picture
was jumping around everywhere and showing off

Chomping on his fingers. Turns out, his fourth molar is finally cutting through!

 Clarence and Noah

 Sleepy Chimp

Polar bear about to hop into the water. It almost looks like he's smiling!

Later that night, after we got back, had a nap, had dinner, played outside, and had a bath.. Isaac decided to wear my sandals around the house. He's so funny.

He also knows which shoes are who's on the shoe rack and he'll take them down and give them to their respective owners.

This week is a pretty exciting and eventful one. Tomorrow, Wednesday, I turn 18 weeks pregnant :) On Thursday, it is not only my brothers 16th birthday, but it's also the day we have the anatomy scan scheduled, so hopefully we will be able to know if we are having a girl or another little boy. Then on Friday, Isaac turns 17months.. one more month and he will be 1.5yr old. Crazy how fast time is flying by!!
